As a photographer I have to adapt from time to time and today was just that kind of day. Cold, wet and cloudy but that did that stop me and Kelsey from doing a photo shoot NO....I always like to challenge myself with my photo shoots and hopefully you can see that even though the weather may not be the best at times, as a photographer we all need to be able to get the best results that we can in any given situation.
Sometimes clients suffer because the conditions are not always the best that they can be. To this I say that as long as the client wants to participate then we photographers need to get out and create the magic that we can.
So the next time you feel that the conditions or the weather are not the greatest. Go ahead and get the gear out and see what you can do. If anything its just another learning opportunity to grow your skills.
I hope that you enjoy the photos below just as mush as we did creating them.

Faces UnMasked 2012
Thursday night I had the pleasure to be the event photographer for a wonderful organization. The Faces UnMasked event was held at the Chattanooga Theatre Center. As I walked in and started to look around, I was taken back a bit at the artistry. On the wall was several masks created by local artist as well as several done by kids.
As the event started Garry Mac was the emcee for the evening and let me say what a wonderful job he did keeping everything going. all of the guest were treated with some wonderful food as well as some games to participate in. The bottle toss game which consisted of tossing a ring around a bottle of wine became very popular, especially by my wife who took home 5 bottles.
All in all, I felt so honored to be there supporting a great cause. I would like to say a very thank you to Kim Teems for contatcing me to cover the event. One of the best moments of the event was when I got into a bidding war with a young lady who I might add did beat me for the Phantom of the Opera mask, so congrats to her.
I also met an artist would gave me the best compliment I have every gotten. We were talking about all the artersy of all the masks and what a honor it was to be in the presence of all of the great artist there, and she looked at me and said what I do made me just as much an artist.
So in closing if you get a chance to attend, do it not only does it support a great cause its just a fun event to attend. So please enjoy just a sampling of photos from last night.

Nightfall 2012 A Look Back Book
Hey everyone,
Now as some of you all know for 16 weeks I have been attending Nightfall. Well there is one thing that no one knew about until now is I have also been working on a book. The book is called Nightfall 2012 A Look Back.
As the weeks went on I started to think how cool would it be to have something to remember the 2012 season. Now the background of the book is 54 pages of photographs that said something to me.
So if you want a keepsake from Nightfall 2012 please visit the link and purchase a copy......

NightFall Week 16
I hate to say it but NightFall has come and gone for 2012, it has been such a pleasure covering the event not only for KickStand Up! magazine but on a persoanal note words cannot describe how all of the people that I have met have impacted me.
Every week I was blessed to meet new folks how share a common love "Motorcycles". Times like these come around and we sometimes forget how much fun they are. Now some of you might be wondering why you haven't seen the potos posted yet, well I do have a good reason...."I thought I already posted them hahahahhaha.
Below is just a sample of the photos, by tomorrow the rest should be up for your enjoyment. One last note over the past 16 weeks I have also been working on a book "NightFall 2012 - A Look Back. The proof is on its way so if all goes to plan I will be posting the info concerning the book.
In closing I would like to say what an honor it has been sharing the last 16 weeks with all of you. And I am sure that some of us will cross paths again before Nightfall 2013.......

Nightfall Week 13
Hey all,
sorry it has been a few weeks since I posted an update. So last week we had a crazy amount of rain, so not much happened at Nightfall. We did finally wind up with about 6 bikes, so that was cool.
Week 13 was better, a full house of bikes, people and great music. There was a great tribute style bike that showed, along with all of the regulars as well as a lot of new faces. Just a few more weeks left till the end of Nightfall for 2012. Labor day weekend, I regret to say that I will not be at Nightfall, cause believe it or not I will be attending
I am looking forward to this event due to the fact that I have never attended one. So I'm sure there will be some interesting people to meet and see.
Below are just a few of the pics from this past Friday night.

Another Kind of Art
Well most of the people that know me, knows that at one time I was really into HDR photography. Now I still love HDR, I've just been caught up with others things and haven't really got the opportunity to do any. But with the help of a really good friend of mine, I was able to create the following photos. I hope that everyone enjoys them as much as I did creating them.

Nightfall Week 5
Well Friday night brought the return of Nightfall after a week of Riverbend. Now I usually ride down early so I can enjoy some great food from the Market Street Tavern, which this past Friday was no different. As I sat out on the patio area trying to relax after a crazy ride down from Cleveland. Traffic was nuts Friday, not to mention I was almost taken out by a minivan that decided to get off the MLK exit due to the traffic jam.
Now normally I eat alone just watching the folks walking by, but this time I was joined by the manager of the Tavern. We sat there talking about places we had been and things we have done. He was talking about the Taverns move across the street. Which as I told him I am going to miss the patio area. Well all things must come to a end and he was called back into the resturant.
But I as I looked up the street, there my buddy Jeff was riding in on his Beta. So once again I had some great company. As we wrapped up and paid our checks the bikes started arriving, so that was my cue to get the gear off the bike and start taking photos for the magazine. And you know even though its week 5 out of a 16 week event season, I'm still amazed at the turnout. We even had a group ride up from Atlanta, Ga.
The People, The Bikes, The Food, The Music, etc..... and the best part no cover charge or entry fees. Come on how could you not love Nightfall. So if you have a bike or are part of a group. Why not make Nightfall a weekly thing.

Kelsey June Photo Shoot
We I had a photo shoot with Kelsey this morning, and as are the weather it couldn't have been better. As I was waiting at Starbucks I was going through possible locations to shoot at. Now I know you are saying what you had a shoot setup and no location picked out. Yes that is correct, the only thing that I knew for sure was we were going to downtown Chattanooga. Well Kelsey shows up and we head out, now most of the ride down was spent catching up with whats been going on with our life's. Plus we talked about her sweetie pie Jacob....
As we arrived downtown, we drove around for a few laps around several blocks, till we found our location of the day. The area was near the stage at Nightfall which to my surprise had this really cool waterfall structure. So as you can see from the images everything seemed to work out just great.
So the short of the story is sometimes its best to just get in the car and drive till you decide to stop, I great photo op can be found anywhere.

Sheena
Hey all, yesterday I had the pleasure of shooting Sheena. Now the beauty of this shoot is she is a photographer herself as well as a model. I suggested that we met up at the Market Street Tavern so we could not only discuss the shoot but just get to know each other. When we finished at the tavern we started walking down Market St, just getting a feel for the area and to see if anything jumped out at us. Well come to find out Coolidge Park is one of her favorite places to not only hang out, but to shoot her clients as well. So Coolidge Park it was.
Now I'm not sure about the rest of my photography friends, but for me I haven't had to many opportunities to photography photographers, we can be a bit demanding lol. Well Sheena did great a true professional. It was great working with her.

Kelsey's Photoshoot Outtakes
I just had to put this one together, it was crazy hot the day we did this shoot, and I had ask Kelsey to do basically the same style pose several times. I just think its funny if you look at the image on the left, she is like seriously again.....lol.
But as the photo on the right shows she snapped right into the pose without a hitch. This is what makes having Kelsey part of the Gregory Cook Photography team great. And I will also say she is great to have as a friend.
So Kelsey I would like to say thanks for putting up with my ever changing mind, and I am proud to work with you.
