Downtown Chattanooga

As a photographer one of the things that I am always doing is trying to find new locations for photo shoots as well as just cool things to photograph. Now I will be the first to admit, I am not that familiar with downtown Chattanooga from a walking perspective. Yesterday I had some time and opportunity to just walk around for a bit and I must admit it was pretty cool.

My journey started on Market street which is a area that I am familiar with, from there it was just a series of alleys and side roads which before I knew it took me to the aquarium area. As I made my way back to the corner of Market and MLK, I stated to realize that getting out and just walking for a couple of hours can be a really cool thing to do. Here are just some of the photos that I took I hope that you enjoy them.

NightFall Week 4

Night Fall 2012 has made it through it's first month and there is no doubt that is is being enjoyed by all that attend. The crowds and bikes have maintained a steady growth. As I made my way through the crowd it always amazes me at the ever growing number of people that I am meeting. More and more are becoming new friends.

This week I took some time to just take a bit of a break I put my cameras down and just took a step back and watched all the people talking with each other. Some of them see each other everyday others haven't seen each other in what might have been months or years only they know.

But no matter what, the one thing that I noticed was all there smiles and laughter. Some may see Night Fall as just another event, but others see it for more than that, they see it maybe as a family get together. So no matter why you come I would suggest this.

Find a spot, stop, and just take a look around, look at the happiness that you will see........

The Ride to Remember

Today I had the privilege and honor to take part in a special ride. Several people from varies walks of life came together and rode to the National Cemetery to pay our respects to all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. As we gather in the Kmart parking lot, there were lots of smiles and hugs, tons of stories and more than enough laughter. But as the time drew near for our departure, we all gathered for some instructions about the ride, some special words from the Chapter V director Gary Boyd and at the end we were led in a prayer.

As the bikes pulled out, each one of us were taking part in the ride for various reasons. Some of us were veterans, others had family members buried in the National Cemetery. But I believe all of us shared the thoughts of how great and privileged we are to live in this great country.

As I set up to take the photos of the bikes coming through, I must admit I was overwhelmed by the respect that was being given by everyone. It really brought back the memories that I have from being in the Marine Corps. The brotherhood that I shared then can still be felt now when I take part in these types of events.

So as you look at some of the photos that I have below, just take a moment and be thankful for all of the past, present and future young men and women who protect us all as well as this great country that we live in.

Kelsey's Photoshoot

This morning I had a photo shoot with Kelsey, and as me and her talked she informed me that it had been over 5 weeks since we did our last shoot. Plus with my crazy schedule we really haven't talked much. So not only did we have a good shoot we got to spend some time together catching up. The main thing that really hit me was how easy it is to get caught up with things and miss out on family and friends.

Nightfall Week 2

Week 2 of Nightfall started out with some rain, but that didn't stop anyone from coming out and enjoying the event. Once again the amount of people and motorcycles was great. It never stops amazing me how friendly everyone is. I must say that Friday nights are becoming one of my favorite times of the week.

2012 Dragon Boat Races

Saturday the 19th of May, I had the privilege to attend the 2012 Dragon Boat races and watch my wife and the Mars Chocolate Team win the Manufacturing Divisional Championship. Now for years Kim has watched and supported me in various things in which I've competed. But I must admit watching her and the entire team cross the finish line through my lens was one of the greatest feelings I've had. I am so proud of her and the entire team.

Mother and Daughter

This past Sunday I was able to meet up with someone that I photograph last year on her birthday. This time not only did I photograph her again, but this time it was with her mom and there two dogs. I must say that it was a great morning. We all had a really good time.
